Match Reports
Pride of place in the notes this week must go to Charlie Byrne and Declan Walsh on their performances in the McKenna and O’Byrne cups in recent weeks. Charlie picked up a winners medal on Saturday evening in Omagh as Donegal defeated Queens University having started every McKenna Cup game except Derry where he appeared as a sub while Declan was unfortunately unable to play in the O’Byrne Cup final on Sunday for DCU against Louth having being instrumental in his sides progress throughout the competition. The 2009 National League begins this weekend with Donegal away to Kerry, hopefully both players will be involved with the senior county side in this competition, Declan of course having made his National League debut for Donegal against Kildare in last years competition.
