The senior side had a good away win in their final Ulster Intermediate group game on Saturday, winning by 1-12 to 1-09. Damian Harkin made a welcome return to the side hitting a point into the bargain while an excellent display by Charlie Byrne saw him register a score also. Malin’s other scorers on the day were Anthony Kelly(1-04), Matthew Byrne(0-3), Gary Farren, Shaun Monagle and Eddie Kelly. Gerard Greene also made a welcome return to the side on Saturday.

The minor side were due to play Buncrana on Friday evening away but the game did not go ahead as Buncrana were unable to field. This Friday the minor side are away to Moville at 7-30pm, all support welcome.
- Well done to Daniel McDaid who hit two points for the Donegal minor side that defeated their Sligo counterparts in a challenge game on Saturday.
Training
- Senior Ladies training for 2010 continues on Tuesday at 7-00pm at the GAA centre in Malin, all girls are asked to bring trainers and boots while any new girls are welcome.
- Underage girls football continues on Saturdays from 10-11 am, €2 per girl per session. For further information on underage girls football contact Denise McCarron on 086 3724378.
- Football training for under 6/8 takes place on Sundays 11/12 am, contact Liam Lafferty on 086 8694459.
- Football training for Under 10s is on Sundays 12/1 pm, contact Seamus McLaughlin(Fildara) on 087 7635011.
- Under 12 training takes place Tuesdays 4-50 to 6-00pm and also on Sundays between 12/1pm, contact Robert Farren on 086 3165395.
- Hurling for Under 8s takes place Monday evenings 5pm-6pm, for Under 10s and Under 12s Friday evenings also 5pm-6pm. Hurleys and helmets are available to purchase at the club, Hurleys €15, helmets €60, Hurley and helmet €70, contact Grace or Eddie for details on paying €5 or €10 in weekly installments. Football and hurley are open to boys and girls and all new members are welcome, €2 per child and equipment is provided. Parents who would like to assist with the hurling in particular are very welcome, just come along to a training session or contact Grace on 086 8047199.

Club Lotto
There was no winner of this weekends lotto jackpot. The sequence drawn was 6,2,1,7,4,3,5. The €50 prize was won by Morgan McDaid c\o Mary Mc Colgan, Malin Town. Next weeks jackpot is €2100 and we thank the local community for its continued support.

A fun general knowledge quiz takes place in the GAA centre on Good Friday evening, everyone welcome to attend.
Fundraising Easter Concert
Joseph Deery is holding a fundraising night in aid of guide dogs for the blind in the Malin Hotel on Easter Sunday night with a host of local artists performing; all support for this very worthy cause is welcome.
Congratulations to Eileen and Patrick Collins on the birth of baby Ciaran on mother’s day, no less!!

The senior side had a good 0-11 to 0-10 win against Burt in Carndonagh last Wednesday evening. A fairly young side were 0-08 to 0-03 behind at half time but responded well in the second half to win. This Tuesday the seniors are due to meet Carndonagh in Carndonagh.

The U-16 side had a good 5-16 to 4-09 win over Glenfin in Malin on Sunday in the Northern League. A good all round performance against a strong Glenfin with special mention to Daniel Mullarkey, normally a goalkeeper but who had to fill in at midfield and was outstanding. Next Sunday the U-16 side are away to Naomh Colmcille.

Good Friday Fun Quiz
After the success of last years sports quiz, Malin GAA club are holding a fun general knowledge quiz( with a fair bit of emphasis on the fun bit) in the Function rooms at the GAA centre in Malin at 9-00pm on Good Friday. Questions will cover a wide range of topics and will suit all ages so come along for what should be another enjoyable evening. Tea and light refreshments will be served on the night, everyone welcome.

Malin seniors began their 2010 league campaign with a very good away win over fellow Inishowen side Buncrana at the Scarvey on Saturday afternoon, winning by 1-08 to 1-06. The win gives them a valuable two points in what is likely to be a tight division this year again. Full match reports for both seniors and reserves are available by clicking here.

Malin reserves were defeated 0-07 to 1-03 in their opening league encounter away to Buncrana but they should have taken something from the game as they had 8 wides in the second half.

The U-16 side made it 3 out of 3 wins in the Northern league, beating Lifford by 6-09 to 2-11 in Malin on Sunday afternoon. The visitors began with the wind behind them and led by 0-03 to zero early on but Malin settled and Christopher Doherty hit the first of 3 goals to draw level. Malin’s ability to hit goals was the main difference between the teams, Malin going in at the break 4-02 to 0-05 ahead.
Lifford played well against the wind in the second half, adding 2-06 to their total but Malin always appeared in control and they ran out comfortable winners. Scorers for Malin were Christopher Doherty(3-0), Paddy McGrenahan(1-02), Shaun Doherty(1-01), Gerard Doherty(1-0), Declan Farren(0-2), Adam Byrne(0-2), Seamus Houton and Ryan Greene. Malin’s next outing in the Northern league is likely to be their toughest test so far as they travel to Urris on Good Friday at 7-00pm, all support welcome.

Malin ladies begin their first Intermediate league campaign on Good Friday when they travel to Ballyshannon to meet Aodh Ruadh at 6-00pm. This is a big year for the ladies after their success in the junior league and championship of 2009 and the club wishes them all the best for the year.

The Junior B side also begin their 2010 league division 5 campaign after their success in 2009 with an away trip to Glenties on Saturday, 3rd April, again the club wishes them all the best.

This weekend sees Malin in the first home fixture of the year as they meet Cloughaneely in Connolly Park. The senior side will be eager to make it two wins out of two but they will have to be at their best as Cloughaneely also started their campaign with a good win over Fanad Gaels. At the time of writing date and time are unclear but check local press for details and all support is very welcome.

Sean Farren Memorial Tournament
The 2010 Shaun Farren Memorial football competition takes place on Saturday, 10th April in Connolly Park and all support is welcome. The tournament begins at 10-00am
Who's Got Talent?
The Donegal Ladies county board are holding a ‘Who’s got Talent’ competition, open to individuals or groups, with heats on Friday 30th April and Friday 7th May with the final taking place in the Clanree Hotel on Friday 28th May. Entry fee is €50 and overall winners receive €1,500 in prize money so if you fancy yourself as the next Amy Winehouse or Oasis...or Philomena Begley or Daniel O’Donnell for that matter (whaddya mean "who’s Philomena Begley?"!!).
