Ladies Football
Despite being one of the more recent additions to Malin's list of football teams, the ladies side has proven its determination to succeed, with its members showing the same drive and commitment as their male counterparts. In the last few years, the ladies squad have built solidly on the successes of each season and 2008 was an example of this. The team narrowly missed out to Kilcar in the Junior Championship semi-final and were runners up to Glenties in the Junior League. In the parish league for the Mary Houten memorial cup, the ladies prevailed, making it 'two in a row'.
A major step in the development of ladies football at CLG Malainn was the establishment of underage gaelic football for girls and this will go a long way to securing the future success of the ladies team.
Underage Football
CLG Malainn is enormously proud of the number of junior teams it boasts, especially as these teams are a vital component of the future success of the club.
- The U-8 squad has continued to increase in numbers over the past year, with regular training sessions proving both successful in nurturing new talent and enjoyable for those involved.
- The U-10 team has an impressive 25 players, who have shown great commitment to training and have showcased their skills in various challenge matches and blitzes throughout the past year.

- The U-12 team, despite being small in number, have shown themselves to be big in determination and in ability. In 2008 the squad played six matches in the Inishowen U-12 league, and narrowly missed out on a place in the U-12 Shield Final. The team shows great promise, and will hopefully go from strength to strength in the coming years.
- The U-13 team, despite losing two key players through injury, have shown impressive form over the past year, and the signs are that 2009 will prove to be another successful year for them.
- The U-14 team had a successful last season, progressing to the 2008 Inishowen League B final, where they unfortunately lost to Urris. The squad also took part in the Division 2A championship and their experiences in both competitions will stand them well for the upcoming season.
- The U-16 squad has 25 members and is managed by Kevin McColgan and Paul Martin McDaid. In 2008 the team took home several pieces of silverware, including the Division 2 Shield, the Division 2 Championship Plate, and the Inishowen League B Trophy. With the same hard work and dedication, the 2009 season will hopefully see yet more success for the team.
- The Minor team is managed by Terence Colhoun, Paddy McColgan and Niall McLaughlin. The strong emphasis on underage coaching at CLG Malainn has proved its value as this present minor squad has won four u-16 Inishowen titles in a row. With such a high success rate to date, much is expected of this team in 2009.
- The U-21 squad, managed by Pat McLaughlin, have shown their dedication to the club on more than one occasion. In the 2008 championship the team made a six hour round trip to play a midweek match against Naomh Columba. In spite of their long journey, the team secured an impressive victory over their rivals from the other end of the county. Thankfully, the championship quarter final against Killybegs was played in the more sensible venue of Letterkenny, which Malin narrowly lost. The majority of this 2008 team will be available for the 2009 season.
